Welcome to our year of Now STREAMing! Streaming is not just for watching the latest shows and movies. STREAMing is also exploring the worlds of Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art, and Math in exciting new ways! Join us this year as we explore each discipline and how they all enrich and compliment one another while you journey through fun and immersive programs that spark creativity and foster curiosity. Look for the letters S.T.R.E.A.M. next to all of our programs to see what areas we are exploring!

February 1st - February 9th

Start with Art: Louis Mailou Mask Art (A)

Using paper and colored pencils, guests will draw and decorate African masks while they learn about their influence in modern African American art. They will also explore the history behind Louis Mailou.

Open MakerSpace: Earthquake Proof Buildings (E)

Design your own structure using LEGOs and put it to the test to see if it survives an earthquake!

Pop-Up Program: Reflective Surfaces (S)

Silver is used in mirrors because of its highly reflective qualities. Experiment with other materials to see how reflective they are!

Using fabric and paper guests will create self-portraits. They will learn about the influence of her heritage on her art and the history of certain African patterns and their meanings.

Make your own origami footballs and try to “kick” a field goal in honor of the Super Bowl!

Famous for his crown, the guests will use found cardboard to cut out and create their own wearable crowns. We will explore his artwork and what the crowns represent.

Make a LEGO structure that can float on water.

Explore how circuits work using playdough! Make lightbulbs light up and buzzers sound while discovering how electricity travels through a circuit.
